Pulpwood Figures Given By Forester Virginia ranked 8th in a group of 12 southern states, with a total cut of 1,990,100 cords. This is a 5% increase over the cut in 1962. There are seven pulp mills operating within the state. The combined 24 hour pulping capacity of all these mills is 56,292 tons. The pulp and paper industry will increase as the population increases. By the year 2000, our use of pulp and paper products should triple.
