When is a disability “service connected"? A disability due to service is said to be "service connected" when it is: 1. Shown to have originated during active service, or 2. Shown to have been aggravated in service, or 3. A_chronic disabiliry sjiown to have Vecome apparent wittt in one year after discharge from wartime service, or within the presumptive period allowed for certain disabilities. There is no presumption for peacetime service, except for some tropical diseases when the veteran was stationed in the tropics for at least 6 months. When service treatment rer cords have become lost or misplaced, service connection can sometimes be established by personal affidavit of the veteran, medical affidavits from the home doctor and affidavits from comrades who served with him. It is especially important that the veteran on his claim form answer fully all questions asked, because a full description of the dates and places of treatment can some times uncover records misfiled.

Salt Lake City-Thieves with lots of brass lifted a boxcar yesterday and made off with Some more brass.
Police said $312 worth of brass axle bearings were missing from a Denver and Rio Grande freight car parked on a siding. They said the only way to get the bearings off was to lift the car.
