Edwin G. Adair, Jr., of Clement Insurance Agency in Culpeper, will serve as an Area Chairman for the 1965 Virginia Heart Fund Drive, it was announced t^day by Sumpter T. Priddy, Jr., 1965 State Heart Fund Chairman. Adair's duties will consist of coordinating Heart Fund Campaign activities in Culpeper, Fauquier, Rappahannock, Orange, Greene, Page and Madison Counties. Adair, a veteran of World War II, is a graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is presently serving as Treasurer of the Culpeper Chapter of the Ameri can Cancer Society, is a member of the Retail Merchants Association, and is a Director of the Culpeper Finance Corporation and the Culpeper Building and Supply Corporation.
Adair is also an Elder and Clerk of Session in the Pre& byterian Church. He and his wife, Marion Clement Adair, are the parents of three children.
Proceeds of the Heart Fund Campaign, held nationwide each year during the month of February, are used to combat the heart and blood vessel diseases through research, public and professional education, and community services. The cardiovascular (heart and blood vessel) diseases include high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke and other complications of hardening of the arteries, rheumatic fever and inborn heart defects, and many other heart and blood vessel disorders. Virginia Heart Association, who sponsors the Annual Heart Fund Drive in Virginia, supports research at ty>th the University of Virginia medical Center in Charlottesville, and the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, as well as other research centers throughout Virginia and the United States.
