The Primary Day School is, private, non-profit schoo founded in 1944 by theprin cipal authors of the Phono visual Method to demonstrat' the effectiveness of organize phonetic instruction. Th< Phonovisual Method is a sim pley easily understood systen of teaching elementar; phonetics in order to obtai earlier and bfetter results i reading and spelling. It ii based on the use of pictora charts arranged on a scien tific phonetic foundation, to gether with a definite plan fo: training in auditory andvisua discrimination. The proper use of the Methoi insures better reading, spell ing and speech. The Method does not replace the basil textbooks but rather 6upple ments them to improve th< fundamental education of eacl child. All elementary teachers ii the county attended the demon' strations.
