Sperryville Office
The C hesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia announced this week that the Sperryville Central office building would be enlarged in connection with providing extended area service, scheduled for the middle of next year. This will enable customers in the Sperryville exchange area to call Culpeper without toll charges. According to Harry E. Liqdsey, area manager, the Sperryville exchange building will be enlarged to give 800 square feet of space. The addition will be to the left and rear of the present structure and will be of brick facing. This added space is needed to house additional local and long distance equipment neces sary for extending the local calling area. -Mr. Lindsey said this pro*ject for Sperryville customers is estimated to cost $275,000 which includes erecting a new cable between Sperryville and Culpeper. He said a similar building addition is scheduled for the Culpeper 937 (WE7) Central Office Building and and will cost approximately $50,000 including the building and equipment. The Nelson Construction Company of Warrenton is the contractor for both of these building additions. Work is scheduled to begin in the near future.
