Three young graduate nurses were killed last Thursday afternoon, April i2 in a head on collision with a dump truck on Route 211 just east of Amissville in Culpeper County. Two of the girls were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and the third died shortly after she was taken to Fairfax Hospital by Culpeper Rescue Squad. The accident victims were Charlene D. Pooler, 21, of Union, N. J.; Maria T. Cordoni, 21, and Marcella F. Galfy, 22, both of Irvington, f N. J. According to Virginia State Police, Miss Cor don i was driving the car, a 65 Tempest; Miss Galfy was oh the front seat. Both were killed instantly. Miss Pooler who was riding on the rear seat died shortly after reaching the hospital. Operator of the truck, Roger Lee Yowell, 18, of Viewtown, was not injured. He was driving an empty dump truck owned by M. R. Settle of Rixeyville. According to authorities, the car in which the girls were riding was heading east when it was struck by the truck
