Rev. Arnold Sorrell performed the ceremony before an improvised altar banked with urns of snapdragons and carnations and lighted candles. Given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Paul Miller of Flint Hill, the bride wore a street length white gown. She was unattended. Mr. Smith acted as best man for his son. The mother of the bride was dressed in shocking pink. The bridegroom’s mother wore navy blue. A buffet followed the ceremony, attended by members of the family and a few close friends. The bride is a student at Katherine Gibbs School in New York, and the bridegroom is attending the University of Virginia.
