which apparently skidded on wet pavement into the eastbound lane. The girls had been to Charlottesville where they had visited Miss Galfy’s brother, Joseph, a student at the University of Virginia. They returned by way of Luray for sightseeing and were enroute home when the accident occurred.

Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Buckley will open a Sinclair Service Station and Grocery on Route 211 and 522 between Sperryville and Washington. This station was formerly known as Walnut Lodge. The Buckleys will be open for business Monday morning. May 3. The Buckleys are former residents of Rappahannock County, but have spent several years in Culpeper and more recently in Florida. Jerry Brown has leased the Esso Servicenter in Sperryville and will greet the public as the new proprietor on Sat? urday. May 1. The business will be known as Brown’s Esso. Mr. and Mrs. Brown, formeis ly lived in Richmond. Since coming here they will make their home with Mrs. Nina Brown, aunt of Mrs. Jerry Brown. They have one daughter.
Carson Johnson, who has op erated the service station for eight years, will remain with Mr. Brown for a few weeks.
