Three members of a Washington, Va. family were hospitalized after a single vehicle crash shortly after midnight Friday on Rt. 522 near Huntly Injured were Eugene Edwin Burke, his wife, Patricia and one-month-old son Eugene,jr. The Burke family was traveling home from Front Royal in a '66 Plymouth Baracudsr owned by Mr. Burke’s mother, Mrs. Mary Burke of Washington, according to the report of Trooper K. L. Miller. The vehicle skidded across the highway into a ditch, continued sideways on its left side, struck a tree and landed upright, said the officer. The vehicle was a total loss, estimated at $3200. Thirty feet of barbed wire fence on the farm of J. A. B. Dahlgren was torn down. Mr. Burke, who was operating the car, sustained lacerations and abrasions of the face and hands. Miss Judy Faye Lillard of Vint Hill Farms Station near Warrenton, was slightly injured in a one-car crash on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10:15 a.m. in Page County, a mile and a half west of Panorama. According to Trooper Paul P. Dicks, Miss Lillard was opera ting a ’66 Chevrolet Corvair when it skidded on wet pavement, ran off the right of the road and struck a tree, She sustained a laceration of the right eye, contusions of the chest and abrasions of both knees.
