Construction Contract
In Park Awarded
Mr. R. Taylor Hoskins, Superintendent of Shenandoah Na tional, Park, advises of recent construction contract awards. An award was made to Mr. Philip I. Dinges of Luray, Va., in amount of $37,388 for construction of two residences at the Front Royal entrance to the Park. Work on this project began on November 17, 1965. An award w.is made on November 16, 1965 to Baughan Construction Company, Inc., of Luray, Virginia, in amount of $38,553 for construction of an Amphitheater and Campground Registration Building at Loft Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Work began November 28, 1965.
An award was made to Contractors, Inc.. Richmond, Virginia, in amount of $208,014 for construction of five comfort stations and utilities for Matthews Arm Campground Area. Work on this project probably will not start until the spring of next year.
Bids were opened at 10;00 a.m. the morning of December 7, 1965, at the Park Headquarters Building, for construction of a North Entrance Station Building. Award was made to Philip I. Dinges, Luray, Virginia, who was low bidder with a bid of $22,398.
