“We fervently hope that those who haven’t responded to their Christmas Seal letters willdo so now, so we can achieveour goal and therefore carry out and expand our programs as planned,” continued the Campaign Chairman. Several of the major projects in this county include a total of over 700 Children’s Health Adventures which aredistributed each month to the elementary schools for the children in the first six grades. These are used by teachers in stressing good health habits. Other health materials, pamphlets, posters and film strips are furnished teachers upon request. Routine assistance to medically indigent patients is a continuing part of the program. This includes a small allowance for laundry and incidentals while a patient is in the sanatorium. Emergency X-rays, clothing, transporta| tion and drugs are supplied when requested by the Medical Social Worker or F^ublic Health Nurse. Through the use of special funds, equipment has been purchased to complete a basic laboratory for testing pulmonary functioning at the Winchester Memorial Hospital.

A symposium was held for doctors in the area to acquaint them with facilities, test interpretation and benefits for testing for respiratory diseases.

The Chairman stressed that more can be done if funds are made available.
