Letter To Editor
It is true,as a correspondent suggested in this column last week, that I am "Down on the Farm" so much that it is hard for me to know what is going on in the county. But once in a great while I do climb off my tractor, put on my earmuffs and venture out on the great pike in my Model T. Last time I did this was back in '62 (1862, that is), and I got as far as Sperryville before I ran out of gas. No, it must have been 1962 because I recollect there weren’t no gas engines in my youth. Anyways, I can say for sure that the letter-writer is correct about tin cans and refuse in the Thornton River; they were there then and they are there now, and also a dump or junkyard just off Main street. Seems to me that if we had had zoning in ’62 (1962 that is) or earlier, and solid restrictions against dumping in the prettv river. Snerrv
