Carelessness Chief Cause
"Carelessness can take many forms. A fire can start from such a little thing as an unextingished match or a lighted cigarette carelessly discarded. In (ait, every fifth fire is caused by matches and smoking.
"Another fifth of all fires is caused by misuse of electricity and faulty electrical equipment. As a matter of just good lommon sense, you owe it to yourself to keep your appliances in good working order, and if they are not operating properly, have them repaired by a qualified service man.”
Mr. Dorsett added that fire prevention, while important at the holiday season, should be made a year-around affair.
"Fire is a perpetual threat, and at no time can we relent in our efforts to achieve fire safety,"he added.
