Patron, Teacher Vie
In Finals Limelight
A patron and a teacher shared the limelight with students at the commencement exercises last Thursday evening at Sperryville Elementary School. Mr. Lester Yates, the patron, was recognized for 36 years of service in the Parent-Teachers Association of the school. His youngest dauglv ter, Lois, was among the candidates for certificates and will enter the eighth grade at Rappahannock County High School in the fall. A tribute was made to Mrs. Juliett Johnson, a teacher retiring after 38 years in that profession. The student body of the school presented her a beautiful brass bowl in appreciation of her service. Certificates were awarded the 43 seventh grade students by Mr. Robert Leonard, Director of Instruction.
