Someone thought to turn off the main power switch to the upstairs lights and the fire went out before it ever really got started —fortunately—since there was no fire extinguisher available. Besides the broken fluorescent fixture, the only apparent damage was to the nerves of those in the courtroom. The meeting quickly settled into routine business after the disturbance.
