Buntin told the Supervisors that the auditor had spent only three to four hours investigating in Rappahannock. “If he can come up here from Richmond and solve our problem in three to four hours, he’s pretty good,” said the Sheriff.
“I don’t agree with what he’s saying but that’s another fight,” Luke responded.
The motion to authorize Luke to work with the Sheriff passed with Supervisor Eastham in opposition. The Board then voted unanimously to approve the accounts for August, including all mileage claims.
Since the notification from the Compensation Board had been received so late in the month, Luke maintain^ it would be impossible to sort through all mileage claims and determine which met the new interpretation of what was reimbursable.
Davis noted that any claims not approved by the Compensation Board would have to be paid by the county.
Following this, the Supervisors went into an executive session, with Board of Zoning Appeals Chairman Josef Gardiner present, to discuss legal matters.
