Policing activities are reimbursable, said Jones, just as long as it can be documented that the activity falls within the criteria. As an example, he said reimbursement wouldn't be forthcoming from the Compensation Board for “policing the county” but mileage for “policing Joe's pizza parlor because it’s a potential trouble spot" would be reimbursed.
Jones added that reimbursement for mileage was a “gray area" with standards primarily based on precedents of what was done in the past.
