Douglas Wayne Silvey of Amissville has been in the intensive care unit of Fauquier Hospital following a motorcycle crash Saturday night when he sustained a severe leg injury and an arm injury.

Silvey was operating a '72 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling north on Route 642 at Amissville when he attempted to pass a '76 Ford pickup operated by Richard Jeffries of Rixeyville, according to Trooper C. A. Moore.

There was a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction, a ’73 Plymouth driven by Herman Clatterbuck of Amissville. Silvey struck the side of the Clatterbuck car, the officer said, bounced off into the Jeffries truck and was hurled down the road.

Tuesday on Route 211 east of Amissville Trooper Moore investigated a collision involving Lisa Crescent i in a '65 Chevrolet pickup and George Sodon of Minnesota in a ’73 Chevrolet station wagon. No injuries and no charges resulted, said Moore.

Billy Hawkins of Castleton was involved in a single vehicle crash Sunday on Route 618 at Castleton. According to Trooper R. A. Baines, Hawkins driving a 72 Ford pickup, ran off the road, struck a bank. He sustained a possible minor hip injury, said the officer. Charges are pending.
