Other increases include a jump of $18,228 in appropriation for the county clerk’s office to cover moving expenses to the new office and purchase of additional furniture and equipment. The contemplated expenditures for the Planning Commission in the coming year show an increase of $13,380 but the Supervisors anticipate that $12,000 will be covered by a comprehensive planning grant under the Rural Development Act.
In addition to the drop in the state’s share of school «MI, K lppeiri that support from the federal government for local government costs is also on the wane. General revenue sharing grants will drop in the coming year by $4,435.
The public hearing on the budget is scheduled for Monday, 10 a.m., in the courthouse. According to a notation on the advertised budget, the Supervisors will approve the budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1978 “no later than July 1, 1978 and at least seven days following the hearing.”
After the hearing the Supervisors may adopt the budget as advertised with its $4.20 tax rate per $100 of assessed value or they may adopt a budget with a lower tax rate. They may not go above the advertised rate of $4.20 without readvertising the budget and holding a second hearing.
