Miss Darlene Belinda Jett became the bride of David Clark Green in a ceremony Saturday, May 6,1978 in Mt. Morris Baptist Church, Hume. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. lames Price and the Rev. J. P. Baltimore before an altar decorated with candelabra, gladioli and chrysanthemums. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Jett of Huntly and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Marie Green of Hume and the late Wilbert Green.
Felton Worrell of Warrenton accompanied soloist Wilbert Green, Jr. of Middleburg.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a traditional gown of ivory satin fashioned on empire lines with a high neckline and full bishop sleeves cuffed with lace. The bodice was of pearled reembroidered alencon lace and the skirt flowed into a chapel train. Her veil of chiffon fell from a lace Juliette cap and her flowers were a cascade of gardenias, stephanotis and variegated pittosporum.
Mrs. Angela White of Culpeper was matron of honor and Miss Vanessa Eddy of Petersburg was maid of honor. Both wore slipper length gowns of medium blue with accordian pleated skirts and fingertip floral chiffon capes.
Bridesmaids were Misses Wanda and Pennv Jett, the bride’s sisters and Eva Faye Dunn of Washington. Thetr gowns, styled like those of the honor attendants were light blue.
Stephanie Banks of Front Royal and Shawna Brown of Amissville were flower girls. They wore long dresses of blue dotted swiss and carried baskets of flower petals.
Ringbearers were Ferron Russell of Front Royal and Arthur Russell of Washington, cousins of the bride.
Daniel Green was best man for his brother and ushers included Thomas D. Jett, Jr., the bride’s brother, Stanley Stuart of Delaplane, Arthur Carter of Purcellville, Gregory Payne, Front Royal and Darnell Poles, Manassas.
