Among the members of the 1978 graduating class at Rappahannock County High School who received awards during commencement Friday evening were Roger Smoot, Lynn Holland, Sheila Bailey and Curtis Nichols.

Roger Smoot of Washington was given the Rappahannock County Garden Club Francis Leonard Scholarship of $300 and from Rappahannock Womens Club a $200 scholarship. He was also the recipient of a Presidents Scholarship award from Lord Fairfax Community College. Roger makes his home with Mrs. Louise Adkins and family.

Lynn Holland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Holland of Sperryville. was the recipient of a $110 scholarship from the Amissville Ruritan Club while Sheila Bailey of Washington received $100 from the Rappahannock Extension Homemakers Council. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bailey Jr.

l'he Rappahannock Lions Club presented Curtis Nichols of Flint Hill a check in the amount of $400. This will be used in conjunction with his summer trip abroad in the Lions International Youth Exchange program. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nichols.
