See The Land
Would you be interested in seeing the land that the administration of Shenandoah National Park is planning to trade? If so, join a hiking party on Saturday, June 17, to the East Peak of Oventop Mountain. The ridges immediately below the Peak of Oventop are those in the proposed exchange.
The climb is steep and over some rocks so sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. It will be about three quarters of a mile and the change in altitude about a thousand feet.
Bring with you a bag lunch, something to drink, and binoculars if you wish. The view of the Blue Ridge north and south is spectacular, with Sperryville and Red Oak lying below.
