Convention
Truman J. Keesey of Washington, a member at large from Northern Virginia lor the Virginia Council of Senior Citizens, represented older Americans from this area at the 14th Constitutional Convention of the National Council of Senior Citizens, held in Washington, D. C., June 8 to 11.
The theme of the Convention was ‘'Strength Through Organization,” expressing the NCSC goal of increased political power at the polls through expansion of local senior citizen clubs. President Jimmy Carter was keynote speaker for the Convention and Senator Edward Kennedy delivered an address on a national health security program at the Convention banquet held Friday evening.
