Services for Jessie Lafayette Smith of Culpeper were held Wednesday at Geest Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Eaton officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
Mr. Smith, 88, died Monday, June 12, 1978 at University Hospital in Charlottesville.
Son of the late Lafayette Smith and Regina Burke Smith of Boston, Va., he was a retired farmer. He was a member of Slate Mills Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Settle Smith; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Carder of Culpeper and Mrs. Violet (Peggy) Dinkel of Winchester; a son, Granville Smith of Boston; a sister, Mrs. Regie Burke of Boston; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
