Zoning ordinance setback requirements that presumably apply to all structures, including wayside signs, appear more stringent than state regulations. On agricultural zoned land, regulations require setback distances of between 80 and 50 feet “on grade from the right-of-way line." In business districts, all structures except signs advertising sale or rent of property must have setback distances of 30 to 55 feet from any street right-of-way, depending on the width of the street. In residential districts, the same requirements apply as in agricultural districts. Setback requirements in conservation districts appear to affect only buildings.
