Goals And Objectives

Bv unanimous vote, the School Board adopted a list of 14 goals and objectives for the current school year. In order of priority, the top five .ire

I Greater emphasis on basic skills, particularly reading.

2. I in esi igation ot revenue sources other than local tax dollars.

.V Assistance from the administration for new teachers or any other teachers needing help in the c lassroom.

4. Better schoolcommumtv relations fostered by the administration.

5 fests in all subject matter beginning with the eighth grade with the tests graded by the central office, i xlra help to be given to particular areas of weakness uncovered by the test.

I here w as discussion on only one of the proposed goals and objectives—an item calling tor an increase of 25 per cent in standardized test scores at the elementary level and an increase of 20 per cent at the high school level.
