Alter the Supervisors issued a building permit to the Ski Area in August and subsequently adopted ordinance amendments in September that made the permit valid. RLFP petitioned the Board to reconsider the amendments According to RLFP, its objections were not directed against the Ski Area but against the new zoning or dinance amendments that it felt would open the county to commercial recreation development with little or no controls. Rl.FP retained environmental attorney Allen Olson who wrote the Supervisors in October, informing them of grounds lor legal action should thev refuse to repeal the ordinance amendments.
Although the Supervisors denied RLFP's request at the October S meeting, it appears now that the environmental organization will not take any legal action. According to an RLFP spokesman, a second Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for next Monday to discuss alternatives that do not include a suit.
