Robert Turner Clater, 35, of Sperryville died Friday, October 13, 1978 in a traffic collision in Sperryville. He was a native and lifelong resident of Rappahannock and was employed in Sperryville Corner Store.
He was the son of Mrs. Maggie Dodson Clater of Sperryville and the late James Franklin Clater. Surviving with his mother are three sisters, Mrs. Richard Wayland of Boston, Va., Mrs. Wilson Burke, Sperryville, and Mrs. William Merchant of Front Royal; two brothers, Randolph D. Clater of Washington, Va. and Ernest F. Clater of Front Royal. A graveside service was conducted Monday in Sperryville Cemetery by the Rev. Vickie Pittard and the Rev. Ronald Wiley.
