Scholarships
Rappahannock Boy Scouts who have proven their photographic ability by earing the photography merit badge can compete for college scholarships in a nationwide contest. The contest is open to Scouts who have earned the merit badge and are between 11 and 15 years old on October 1.
First place award is a U. S. Savings Bond that matures to $1,000; second place a bond that matures to $500 and third place a bond that matures to $200. Certificates of merit with $5 awards are also given.
In addition, a Chief Scout Executive’s Award with saving bond that matures to $500 will be presented for the best picture protraying Scouting.
Photos, in black and white or color, must have been taken after October 1, 1978, and entries must be postmarked no later than October 1,1979. Entry forms with complete rules are available from the i Shenandoah Area Council Service Center, P. O. Box 892, Winchester, Va. 22601.
