CHAPTER 16. Raccoon. R16-1. Except as otherwise specifically provided in the regulations appearing in this chapter, it shall be lawful to chase raccoon with dogs, without capturing or taking, from October 15 through November 14, both dates inclusive.
R16-7. Except as provided by local legislation, the bag limit for hunting raccoon shall be two per hunting party, taken between noon of one day and noon the following day. The season bag limit shall be twenty-five raccoons in the aggregate, taken by hunting and trapping combined.
CHAPTER 18. turkey.
R18-2.2. It shall be lawful to hunt bearded turkeys only from April 12 through May 10, 1980, both dates inclusive, from one-half hour before sunrise to 11 o'clock a.m. Bearded turkeys may be hunted by calling. It shall be unlawful to use dogs or organize drives, for the purpose of hunting. R18-4. The bag limit for hunting turkeys shall be one a day and two a license year, one of which may be a hen during the fall season.
CHAPTER 22. Permits. R22-12. It shall be unlawful to import or cause to be imported or to liberate within the Commonwealth of Virginia any gray fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus), red fox (Vulpes fulva), raccoon (Procyon lotor) or any other wild animal or wild bird unless a permit therefor is first obtained from the Commission. Before such permit is issued, the importer shall make application to said Commission giving the place of origin, the name and address of the exporter and a certificate from a licensed practicing veterinarian setting forth that the animal, or animals, to be imported is free of rabies or any other infection or contagious disease. R22-12.1. In accordance with authority conferred by Para. 29-11 of the Code of Virginia, the Commission finds and declares the following species to be predatory or undesirable within the meaning and intent of those terms as used in Para 29-158 of the Code, in that their introduction into the State will be detrimental to the native wildlife resources of Virginia: European hare (Lepus europeaeous) and European or Sna Juan rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). It shall be unlawful, pursuant to Para. 29-158 of the Code, to import, cause to be imported, buy, sell or offer for sale or liberate within the State any of the above-named species unless a permit therefor is first obtained from the Commission. Before such permit is issued, the importer shall make application to said Commission giving the place of origin, the name and address of the exporter and a certificate from a licensed practicing veterinarian setting forth that the animal, or animals, to be imported is free of rabies or any other infection or contagious disease.
