Sen. John W. Warner of Virginia says that legislation awaiting Senate floor action would authorize the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to spend $341.6 million on the nation’s space program at two Virginia installations during fiscal 1980. The bill, cleared by the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee last month, would give NASA new budget authority of $4,725 Billion for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 1980, if approved by Congress and signed by the President.

Tornado
To the editor:
I read about the 1929 tornado in the Rappahannock News. This is the year that my mother and baby sister got killed. My mother was Lena Pendleton and the baby’s name was Frances. She lived on a farm at Ben Venue owned by the Kings and the rest of us lived on the Jim Cropp farm at Amissville with our grand> mother, Cattie Pendleton.
The family is spread around now. Meeter Pendleton and I live at Harrisburg, Pa., Madeline Christian lives at Amissville, and Charles Pendleton lives at Strasburg. There were 7 children in our family and three are now dead. I used to live in Amissville.
