Plans are well underway for an expanded country fair and' celebration in Washington on July 4.

This year’s celebration will feature many events and displays never before seen at Washington’s traditional July >4. Washington will host the first annual Blue Ridge Classic and Antique Auto Show, with cars from all over Virginia and the Washington, D. C. area.
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will stage fire engine rides for children, with color photographs to remember the event. A chicken barbeque dinner will precede the traditional fireworks display at Avon Hall.

For Elderly
An informal discussion of local programs for the elderly and statewide issues which affect senior citizens will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, at Hampton Inn, west of Washington.
The public is invited to attend this open hearing.
