our fortunes and our sacred honor.” Rarely is an American called up today to display such fortitude. But there exists in the United States a massive reservoir of generosity, self sacrifice and willing effort. In fact, a Census Bureau survey in recent years produced the estimate that 37 million people above the age of 13 years are engaged in volunteer work in the spirit of helping others. It is through a willingness to give of ourselves that we can demonstrate our support for America and the people that the American flag stands for. It is through this consideration for our fellow man that we can display, in our own way, the intentions of our Founding Fathers.
Through positive actions we will be demonstrating how life works in a democracy, and how the people are themselves the nation. Encourage regular daily display of the American Flag - flags symbolize achievements, traditions and ideals, all of which can be very well demonstrated as well through a greater participation in volunteer activities. America is made up of many small men. But those small men have large hearts, hearts filled with an awareness of the plight of fellow human beings. For the next three weeks, we have a particular opportunity to manifest opr^ regard for those who make up America. Let us use our chance well.
