At Monday’s special meeting, the Rappahannock school board members took an axe to the proposed budget for 1980-81 recommended by superintendent William Bloomer. Adopting Robert Eastham’s ”12 “cent solution’'. they cut proposed salary increases for teachers to 12 per cent but approved their first fringe benefit in payment of the mandatory life insurance premiums for the school’s professional employees.
Principals, administrators and non-professional employees of the schools will receive salary increases of nine per cent in the proposed budget.
