Mrs. Ruth Williams, chairman, explained “All the money that our local riders earn will help continue St. Jude’s life-saving study of childhood cancer that has become so important to children all over the world. We’ll be showing how much we care about children by helping this cause. Please support your rider with a generous pledge, and then help them get the funds to us as soon as possible after the ride is over.”
Riders will be given lap cards when they register at the Farmers’ Co-op Parking lot at 12:30 p.m. Each time a rider completes a lap, this card will be checked as proof of how far each participant rides. Riders will then return to their sponsors to collect their total pledges.
Riders will be given a hospital bracelet reading, “I’m Riding for Lisa” to wear during the ride. MostScf > them will still be wearing ' them while they make their collections. Lisa is a St. Jude patient who represents all victims of the illnesses unde?^ study at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The route starts at the Farmer’s Co-op Parking lot, and will be a three mile course down the Shade Road. Riders may ride it as often as they wish. Sponsor sheets may be obtained at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Mrs. Williams may be reached at 987-8327 for further information.
