Eastham took Masterson's proposal one step further, suggesting that all vehicles except the superintendent’s car be put into a motor pool. Vehicles could be taken from the pool to use for school business filling out a ticket each time, Eastham said, but must be returned at the end of the day.
“That runs counter to what I was told when I was employed.” assistant superintendent Robert McDaniel interjected. He said he’d been told that he would have a car assigned to him for use on school business only but that he would be authorized to drive the vehicle to and from work, quartering it at his home, as long as he was living in Rappahannock.
