Art Show Set
For MAY
Pinkney Near, Virginia Museum Curator and Director of the Collections Division, has agreed to judge the adult division of the Neighborhood Art Show at Grace Church, The Plains, May 9, 10 and 11.
Near has been Curator of the Virginia Museum for a total of twenty-one years; A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he holds his M.A. degree from Harvard University. He has been a Teaching Fellow at Harvard, has studied in Europe under Harvard and Fulbright Fellowships, and formerly was Curator of Paintings, Prints, and Drawings at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
Artists of the area are reminded that the closing date for entries is April 4 when the catalogue goes trf the printers. 9
Artists within a 75 mile radius of The Plains are eligible to make one entry in any of two of the seven classes, which are: oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, prints and drawings,^ sculpture and ceramics,; miscellaneous, and a new catagory of religious art that has been added this year. Junior exhibitors, any age from nursery school through high school, are limited to one entry. Crayon is not acceptible.
