Luke replied that the supervisors should be able to give fire and rescue groups an exemption from the permit requirement, noting that no complaints have ever been lodged on noise from that type of gathering. The supervisors also agreed to check if a dance hall ordinance can be applied to noise generated at outdoor revival services, specifically the weeklong camping services held by Rev. L. D. Savage at facilities on Route 622 in Castleton.
Baumgardner noted that the supervisors could include a curfew in the dance hall ordinance but suggested instead that they establish guidelines so the ordinance administrator can have flexibility to set a curfew based on circumstances in oach case. • “Let’s get some discussion and see what the people want to do,’’ Luke concluded.
