E. P. Luke, chairman of the joint school boardsupervisor capital outlay l committee, presented a $1.25 million proposal for expansion at the high school to his committee members at a meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
The proposal calls for 14,188 square feet of new space at approximately $50 per square foot in construction costs. Additional classrooms include three science rooms with laboratory facilities, two business rooms, art room and music room. Cost is estimated at $372,600 for the five classrooms.
Support facilities covered in the plan include additions to library and cafeteria, two restrooms for regular students and two for handicapped, a clinic, teacher workroom, guidance counselor office and locker room for a cost of $295,400.
The proposal allocates $361,950 for energy conservation projects designed to cut fuel consumption and $106,350 for equipment. Also included are estimates on three different approaches to solving the high school’s sewage disposal problems —subsurface sand filter with distributing tile lines, sand filter with rotaty distributor or sand filter with intermediate flooding.
