reported that in most schools facing space problems, the principal and assistant principal share an office area with the secretary to free an additional room or two.

Noting that this possibility has been discussed with superintendent William Bloomer, Mrs. Massie said that the assistant principal will probably share space, this year with school secretary Mary Edna Schaeffer while the assistant principal’s former office will be used by the child development specialist who conducted classes this past year in the hall.

Parent Volunteers Sought

Masterson also suggested that the administration work to solicit a greater level of parent participation in school activities, particularly special education programs. The rest of the board agreed and, by consensus, directed Dr. Bloomer to develop a more organized approach to soliciting parent volunteers in the schools.
