“Will that put any pressure on the water system?” Mayor Newbill Miller asked councilman Charlie Jenkins, supervisor for the town’s water system. Jenkins replied that it wouldn’t.

Charlie Manson suggested that Lynch consider installing a sprinkler system in the upstairs rooms. "With no fire marshal and no building inspector to check things out, you’re on your own,’’ he advised Lynch. Fisher agreed that the upstairs bedrooms should at least have smoke detectors.
Lynch volunteered to discuss with the project’s architect the subjects of fire protection and the possibility of using land to the rear of the septic field for employee parking.
The council voted unanimously to approve issuance of the special use permit for rooms at The Inn contingent upon adequacy of the septic drain field.
Theater Permit Granted
With approval of a special use permit to Freeman Allen, the council assured that the bright lights of Hollywood will have another chance to light up the screen of the old theater on Gay Street, rechristened Mountain Magic Cinema.
