Chorus

In Rehearsal

The Rappahannock Chorus opens its fifth season this fall as rehearsals begin September 9 at the home of the director. Mrs. Gloria Harris on Fodderstack Road, in preparation for a Christmas concert. Practice is held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Harris home.

New voices are wanted and the ability to read music is not necessary. A cordial invitation is extended newcomers, according to Mrs. Harris. If interested, you may contact her at 6753710.

Both men’s and women’s voices are featured in the varied programs which range ■from Bach and Mozart to spirituals and folk songs. This year’s Christmas concert will include a cantata by Philip F. Buckner, sixteenth century English and Irish carols, spirituals, and an unusual calypso number.

The concert will also include instrumental music and a Robert Shaw arrangement of carols.
