At a special meeting held election day morning, the Rappahannock Board of Zoning Appeals unanimously approved issuance of a special use permit to George Cook for construction of an apartment over a two-car garage on his 1.6 acre lot near Flint Hill.
On August 19, Cook first applied for the permit, required for a second dwelling unit on a lot in an agricultural district. At its September 11 meeting, the BZA passed his application on to the supervisors, asking for clarification.
At Tuesday’s reconvened session, zoning secretary Patty Alexander read a letter from supervisor chairman E. P. Luke stating that the supervisors had no objection to the permit, finding Cook’s proposed use “not unlike similar situations that exist
