EDGAR F. PURYEAR
A Veteran’s Day Service is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery on November 11, sponsored by the American Legion Post 330. Civic, fraternal, religious and other organizations are invited to participate, as well as individuals. Represent thrives may be present with a wreath or bouquet to place at the base of the flag during the program.
Edgar F. Puryear, Jr., an attorney of Madison, will give the address. The Culpeper County High School band under the direction of James Sheldrake will present the National Anthem and other selections. A rifle salute will be rendered by men of the 3rd Bn., 1st Brigade, 80th Division, Tng., U.S. 2524 and American Leion Post 330.
Dr. Puryear formerly taught international relations, economics and business law at the University of Virginia and has served as civilian attorney to the Judge Advocate General School of the United States Army at Charlottesville. He was assistant dean of the faculty, air training officer, jodo coach and political science instructor while stationed at the U. S. Air Force Academy.
