According to Sheriff W. A. Buntin, the state police arson unit is working with Rappahannock deputies Steve Crossman and John Henry Woodward on the investigation of Friday’s fire. Search of the fire site for evidence was delayed until Monday when the debris cooled down, Buntin said.
The sheriff reported that two Culpeper deputies also came to the scene of the fires on Friday, looking for evidence of possible connections with a rash of suspected arson incidents which occured in that county over the past month.
