“That’s why it is important for parents and teachers to discuss basic behavior with children, to let them know what’s expected,” said a Rappahannock Teachers’ Association spokesperson.
“Let your children know you expect politeness and good manners. Tell them how they should behave in school, in theaters, in shopping malls, in church or synagogue, while driving the family car. Let your children know your tax dollars paid for school property and that you expect it to be taken care of,” encouraged the RTA officers.
“Children of any age, no matter how much they protest, like to know what's expected of them and appreciate the guidance of adults in their lives. Discipline, to them, is proof you care,” he said.
