The Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association held a special fire school on October 18 and 19 at the training site in Amissville. The two day course focused on structural firefighting and its hazards. Area firemen participated in the training session which -was led by Carl James and Paul Mauger, both of Chesterfield County, and R. C. Allen of Falls Church.
The classes give area fire personnel an opportunity to learn safety procedures and firefighting skills needed to function in a hazardous environment with some degree of safety.
The RCFRA’s annual fire school was held earlier on September 27-28 and October 4-5. Personnel attended classes ranging from learning to maintain and use ladders to properly conducting fire safety inspections.
