The first Shenandoah Valley Heritage Conference will be hosted by the Valley of Virginia Heritage Institute at Lord Fairfax Community College on Saturday, November 15. Registrations for the conference are now being taken.
The purposes of the conference are: to provide an opportunity for persons interested in the heritage of the valley to meet each other and discuss mutual interests; and to provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the valley’s heritage through a series of brief,, informal workshops. **
Sponsored by Winchester*1 Frederick County Historical Society, Shenandoah Valley Folklore Society, Preservation of Historic Winchester, Inc., Belle Grove, Inc., Clarke County Historical Association, Page Valley Heritage Association, Blue Ridge Institute, Ferrum College, Shenandoah County Historical Preservation Commission, the conference is limited to 100 participants. Registration fee of $7 for adults and S5 for students must be received by November 7. The fee includes morning refreshments and luncheon.
