Both commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle travel on Virginia’s major highways continued to shbw a decline in September over the same month a year ago, according to the Department of Highways and Transportation.
Travel by commercial vehicles showed the sharpest decline, 3.5 per cent, when compared to September, 1979. Passenger vehicle travel was down one-tenth of one per cent, with out-of-state passenger vehicles registering a drop of 4.4 per cent. Virginia passenger vehicle travel was off by less than one per cent when compared to the same month a year ago.
