The Rappahannock County Library is sponsoring a program on Wednesday, January 21, featuring Mrs. Carl “Pipsy” Bischoff, a silver appraiser.

She will discuss antique silver, how to research one’s own silver using tools provided by libraries and how to determine the authenticity of an artifact.

As a special feature, ■Bischoff will examine silver pieces brought in by members of the audience and identify them as to country of origin, function and age. (No more than one per person.) In some instances where there is a degree of standardization, she may suggest the approximate value of the article; however, she does not plan to do that for each item since that may involve more time and effort than the circumstances permit.
